About the role
A Finance Manager is required to join the finance team, reporting to a senior finance leader. This is a central role within financial operations, where technical expertise will shape management accounting quality, alongside responsibility for leading a team.
This position would suit a qualified accountant who is comfortable reviewing complex journals, coaching a team, partnering with stakeholders, and driving process improvements.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading a team of four (two senior management accountants and two management accountants), supporting development and performance
- Owning the period-end timetable, ensuring processes run smoothly and deadlines are met
- Reviewing and challenging journals across multiple accounting standards, including fixed/variable rent, revenue, operating costs, accruals, prepayments, and provisions
- Partnering with commercial finance and planning teams to review results, investigate queries, and manage final adjustments
- Ensuring balance sheet reconciliations are completed, reviewed, and understood each period, with issues resolved monthly
- Maintaining a risk and opportunities log and keeping senior finance stakeholders informed
- Managing revenue share processes, including audits and external submissions
- Liaising with internal and external auditors across audit cycles
- Supporting the design and implementation of new systems and processes, ensuring documentation is maintained
Knowledge and skills
- Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA); industry experience preferred
- Experience managing, coaching, and developing a team
- Strong technical accounting knowledge across relevant standards
- Controls-focused mindset with the ability to identify and implement improvements
- Confident communicator able to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Commercially aware, proactive, and comfortable working to tight deadlines
- Experience using technology to improve processes
- Strong ERP systems experience and advanced Excel skills
